Clay Candy is an edible sculpting dough that can be played with and used to decorate graham crackers or top frosted cupcakes. Little artists and chefs alike will enjoy making, playing with, and eating this sweet clay. For a less- sugary edible dough, try Peanut Butter Dough!

[edit] Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • Food coloring

[edit] How to make it:

  • Use your hands to mix the corn syrup, butter, salt, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  • Pour in the powdered sugar, and knead until it becomes smooth.
  • Extra powdered sugar can be added to make the dough more pliable and less sticky if needed.
  • Divide the clay into portions, and mix in food dye, 1 drop at a time to create various color options for your little artists.

This recipe makes enough to decorate about 25 graham crackers, with a little nibbling along the way. If the clay becomes sticky during use, place in the refrigerator for an hour. Enjoy!
